Slush ... as in "snow that has begun to melt and is therefore very wet and dirty". About 14 years old. Male.
When we first took him in, he was really dirty. After bathing and drying, still looked like he had dirty smudges. Hence that name. But his colouring darkened/deepened over the years and his name was no longer appropriate. But he had already learned to respond to it, so what the heck.
He was about ten when he came, and the younger ones all looked up to him as "king". And what a gentle and protective king he was. Anytime one of the youngsters got into any trouble with bullying toms in the neighbourhood and screamed for help, he would go flying to the rescue.
He was their king, and also their surrogate mother. Because the youngsters were orphaned kittens, they still had nursing-fixations and they would often attach themselves to his tits when he's lying down!! He would endure it patiently for a while before getting up and moving off. He never cuffed them or anything like that. Poor Slush had to walk around the neighbourhood with the enlarged tits of a nursing mother!! And he was such a macho cat too, even after neutering.
For a head-and-shoulders portrait shot of him ...

oh my goodness! why wasn't this in my message inbox?! dA must have been having glitches again .. this is not the first time it has happened! Sorry for not replying earlier.
I always did love these little purple flowers, but I didn't know their name ... until :iconFlaviaRogue: told me that they are called "Erica". This boy is very macho, but the flowers do look good with him, don't they?
Thank you so much for stopping by to leave such lovely comments!
